Chocolate Mustache Lollipops

These fun sweets are easy to make and take just minutes to prepare.  If melting real chocolate into your mold, your lollipops will need to be stored cold and served chilled, right out of the freezer.

You might want to consider using candy melts or read about tempering chocolate if room temperature storage is important or your lollipops need to do some traveling.

For easy lollipops in minutes, you will need:

  • 6 oz. milk chocolate chips or candy melts
  • 6 oz. white chocolate chips or candy melts

1.  Melt chocolate and white chocolate chips or candy melts separately in glass or ceramic containers in the microwave for 30 seconds.  Stir and repeat until all the chocolate is smooth and pourable (do not overcook).

2.  Pour melted chocolate into mold, mixing the two colors as desired.  Tap the mold on the counter to release all the bubbles and insert lollipop sticks.  Place mold in the freezer until set.

3.  Take lots of pictures before eating and enjoy!  Yum!

Makes 12 lollipops.

Super cute! Also, if you want to use ‘real’ chocolate you can add parafin wax while its melting so that it will keep its shape better and it raises the melting point. Commercial candy bars (Hershey’s, etc.) have some wax already in them, but you can always add more. I’ve never been able to successfully microwave chocolate, so my experience has always been with a double-boiler (one sauce pan floating inside another!) to melt the chocolate and wax. But I do that every year for the holidays when I make peanut butter bon-bons. :)

Sooooo cute! i will do these for my friends daughters b- day party. It is a circus themed one. These will be great! May i just suggest NOT using parafin wax. Not really good for you…you can substitude 2 tbs corn syrup for every 1/2 cup of chocolate (or more) or some vegetable shortening.
